Underwear stays close to your skin all day. It couldn't be any closer. So, it shouldn’t be pinching, scratchy, or unflattering. Read on for some tips to help you find your perfect pair of Separatec.

Step 1: Choose the Right Size

Yes, you need to measure your waist. Use a tape measure to find your natural waist so you can choose the most comfortable size. (You can find your natural waist by bending sideways. A crease will form at your waist to help you identify it.) Make sure nothing digs in or pinches, and that the waistband sits comfortably on your skin.

Step 2: Pick a Style That Works for You

Underwear comes in so many different styles that it can get overwhelming. But underwear is personal; there’s no right or wrong choice. If you're really confused, just check out the recommendations below.

Step 3: Consider Removing the Labels

Labels can sometimes cause discomfort against your skin. Tear them out once you’re happy with the style, but keep them for care instructions and sizing info for future reference. Note: Some of our new styles are available without labels.

Step 4: Place Everything Correctly

Make sure your third leg and balls are positioned comfortably.

Step 5: Replace Your Underwear Regularly

Underwear sags and loses elasticity, so it’s never good to hang onto it beyond its prime. The average lifespan of your underwear is about 6 months, depending on how many pairs you have and how often you rotate them. Use your own judgment when it comes to restocking. If they’re looking worn out, your outerwear won’t look good.

Extra Tips to Keep in Mind:

  1. Elastic is destroyed by high heat. Never tumble dry underwear. That’s a big no-no!
  2. Don’t wash over 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Again, refer to care labels.
  3. Don’t always assume cheap means bad quality and expensive means good quality. Comfort is in the wearer, not the price tag.
